What can I say? C. is my best friend and partner in crime. He is a very talented photographer, writer, composer and musician (amongst other things) He supports my wacky ideas and he's a brilliant dad to the kitties as well! C. takes most of the photos of me you see on here (definitely the good ones!)

Also known as Mister Hobbes, King of the Cats, The Laird, Hobbesy, Woodles, The Woodle Poodle, Teddy Ruxpin, Bloomberg, Hooger Fooger. Hobbes broke my phobia of cats and converted me into a cat lady. When I was at uni, I was working in a cafe, and we thought we had found a rat or a mouse in the kitchen. It turned out to be a teensy grey kitten. We tried to find out where he had come from with no luck. As the pet store said he was too small, and nobody else could take him, I brought him home with me, just for one night, until we could find a home for him. He fit in the palm of my hand. He was the biggest cat I have ever seen, but he was a big softie! My boyfriend's 3 year old niece visited one day and we introduced her to our 'cat' Hobbes. She pulled a face and said "That's not a CAT, it's a BEAR!!" That's how big he was. He suffered from diabetes now and required an insulin injection daily. The things you do huh? Hobbes' favourite things were outside and tuna. Tuna could be used to bring him inside, so I suppose his best thing in the world was tuna. He was also quite fond of a belly rub and even enjoys having a raspberry on his belly! Hobbes hated being told 'no' In July 2012, after a few weeks of suffering from a skin condition, Hobbes' health deteriorated rapidly and within one week, he had passed away of cancer. His illness was sudden and unexpected, and I still can't believe my blue bear is gone :(Sometimes spelled Neko (Japanese for cat). We pronounce it Knee-Co. Also known as Neeky, Nickles, Pickles, The Little Wife, Nico-Potamus and Hank, but only when her hair is brushed forward over her eyes. After Hobbes was about 6 months old, we decided he needed a companion, so Nico arrived at our home. Nico is obsessed with her dad, and me to a slightly lesser extent. The moment he lays down in bed, she climbs onto his chest and stares at him. This can continue for hours on end. If he happens to be reading a book (he's always reading a book), she uses her x-ray vision to scrutinize him through the book. Nico's favorite thing is sitting on her parents, bedtime and trying to make kissing sounds to show us how much she loves us. She hates wood and suitcases.

Chibi was named after Chibi Totoro... the littlest one. She was also known as Chibs, Chibi-weebi, Chibbles, The Easter Bunny, Pootelby, Pootelby Ramsbottom the Third, Pootie and Poots. Chibi passed away from kidney failure in November. We got Chibi after an old lady's posh purebreed cat got knocked up by a street cat. She dumped the kittens on a pet store, with the threat she would kill the kittens if they pet store didn't accept them. A lady who worked there took the kittens home and hand fed them. They were only a couple of weeks old. Chibi was the runt, and one of only two to survive. Chibi was adopted out to a troubled youth who was in government care. The girl couldn't take care of her, so we adopted her. Because she had such a hard start, she was extremely skittish and scared of everyone and everything. After a LOT of patience and hard work, we finally managed to get her to come out of her shell. She went from being a mushroom cat (always in the dark) to a sociable, friendly and loving animal. She lived on my lap from the moment I was at home, until it came time for me to head out to work again. Chibi could see things that we could not see. She would spend a lot of time perched on her hind legs, grabbing at the air with her front paws. We decided that she was playing with fairies. In November, she fell ill with kidney troubles, which were developmentally flawed due to her malnutrition and neglect as a kitten. Unfortunately the treatments were unable to save her. I take comfort in the fact that she was happy, comfortable and content in her final couple of years. I miss her terribly! Chibi loved sitting on a lap more than anything else. She was an expert at building a kitty-cubby out of cushions. She despised the poo police. (Hobbes likes poop ONLY in the litter box - he patrols for breaches of this policy on a regular basis) She was bonkers for Doritos.Maggie's real name is Magdalena, but we never call her that. We do call her Maggers, Miggs, The Magical/Mystic Moogoo, Sooty Satan Feet, Barrel of Maggies. She is the baby of the lot, given to us by another person who bought a kitten then decided they were a bit bored with that idea. At first the other cats were a bit suspicious of her, but Maggie just ran around everywhere with her tail straight up in the air (cat body language for "everyone here is my friend") and they eventually chilled out! Maggie is always up to mischief and she runs everywhere! She has the most adorable sleeping poses that you have ever seen. She is quite dark on top, a beautiful caramel on her belly and has pitch black feet. Maggie hates being picked up and protests with tiny 'meeps' until you put her down. She's always busy and her favourite thing is drinking at The Cat Bar (the faucet in the bathtub). Maggie is approximately the same dimensions wide as long, but she tells me it's mostly fur.
